Recursive Self-Improvement (RSI) refers to the hypothetical ability of an artificial intelligence system to use its own capabilities to improve those same capabilities without any human intervention. In theory, this would create an infinite feedback loop leading to an unprecedented superintelligence in a very short period of time. Several big tech companies like Open AI and Meta AI are currently investing billions of dollars trying to develop the first AI capable of RSI.
